COM Port Access to input data

Hi All,
We have a Passport reader which can connect to COM Port(Serial Port) It reads Magnetic inked text and sends via serial port. How can I get that input to my developer forms.
I wrote a VB program which can read COM port and get the input , but I don't know how Developer works with OCX or ActiveX objects. I'll be highly greatful if you can give me an example for Developer and ActiveX Object behaviour. Or else are there any clue to follow to succeed this problem. Please help me....
