Hi,

We are having oracle 8i, on W2k (Service pack3). We are using NAS (form Netops) as our storage divices. About twice a week the entire oracle shuts down with the following error:

---------

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 32 (block # 919817)
ORA-01110: data file 32: 'O:\ORADATA\BAANP\C501_IDX02.DBF'
ORA-27091: skgfqio: unable to queue I/O
OSD-04006: ReadFile() failure, unable to read from file
O/S-Error: (OS 64) The specified network name is no longer available.

When I look at Aler.log I see :

Once we get this error we just restart oracle and recover the datafiles and put them back on line.

We belive that some how the box running oracle is loosing connection with the filers (storage devices).. My question is have you guys ever encounter such error..? Are there any users who are using similar conifiguration (8i, NAS, W2k)? are any thoughts on this problem ?

Thanks,
-Hidayath
