Repost the problem about table number and DB performance

I am very sorry, I have made a mistake, Now I will rewrite my problerm bellow:
Our DB has multiple tables, the data in each table is very large, almost 700MB - 1GB, then If we create 1000 tables, the DB will need 1TB space, I wonder how much space can Oracle manage without losing more performance?

1 TB should not be any big deal for Oracle. No worries as long as you have hardware to support.

what about 30 - 40 TB or even more ? since it is possible to happen. we store and process GIS and other space data.

Dont worry about the volume. Oracle has solution for everything. If you know partitioning feature of Oracle, then you would not be asking this question. Partitioning is a feature where you can distribute the table data on the different physical drives, which takes care of performance and also the OS datafile size limits.

I agree, your system resources will be pretty key.
(fast disks / controllers and lots of processing power)

I have a 4.5 Tb database (one table just under 2.2Tb), and no problems providing you optimise the tables / indexes (if using CBO) and I found using Oracle partitioning useful, especially if the DB is very dynamic and will need archiving. (also using locally managed tablespaces
    can help!)
