Error in Oracle Designer 6i Backup !!

    Dear All,
We are using designer 6i in a project. Here we have 2 normal users other than the repository owner. We are doing ERD simultaneously using both the users. When I try to take EXPORT backup using the repository owner user , it's throwing an error "Invalid Column Name" after taking all the table backup or rather just when trying to take the backup of the synonyms. Please tell me how to find where is the error ... and how to take successful export backup .....
For backup I've user Repository Administration Utility and EXP from comand prompt also ...

Please give me a solution ...

    Thanks in Advance
    ANO

Do a cold backup if there are only a few users. Just ask them to logout for a few minutes.

It should be as effective as an export.

The version of the Export utility being used does not match the
version of the database in which the Designer Repository is installed.

    Dear All,
Now I realise that the problem is with the version of Oracle Database and the export Utility. I've tried to take the export backup of SCOTT user from the comand prompt .... the same error is coming again ...

Let me describe the real scenerio ....
Firstly I've installed Orable DB 8.1.7.0.0 on Win-2000 P-IV machine, after that I've applied the latest patches and the version now is 8.1.7.4.1

Since this point of time I've never taken any backup of the database.

After this I've installed Oracle DB 9.0.2 in the same machine in a different home. Both the databases are working fine ... But now I'm facing problem in taking export backup of the 8i database.

Can anyone please diagnose the problem ????

    Thanks,
    Anomitro

Which user are you using to do the backup? Scott? Does Scott have exp_full_database privilege?

From your 8i version of exp, simply type exp at the command prompt and enter the information via the interactive method. It's pretty simple.
