The inability to search on words with less than 4 letters is frustrating.
I can no longer use MTS, OID, OCP and OEM as search criteria. Many useful posts do not refer to the fully typed names represented by these acronyms and will not show up in the return set. It limits the usability severely.
Because of this feature we can't directly search for the following: JDK, JRE, 9i, 8i, SQL, 9.2, etc. Please allow us to search by 2 or more characters.

Moderators please answer. How can I search for a word less than four char??
I really just DON'T understand why you put this restriction to the search ability of the site. It's just doesn't make any sense what so ever. Can you give me just ONE good reason for this so-called enhancment!
As I understand it, it's a "feature" of MySQL. As of Version 3.23.23, MySQL has support for full-text indexing and searching. FULLTEXT indexes are most often used to search natural language text, such as through newspaper articles, web page contents and so on. For this reason MySQL has added a number of features to assist this kind of searching. MySQL does not index any words less than or equal to 3 characters in length, nor does it index any words that appear in more than 50% of the rows.
