startup not available

i have a big problem. I shutdown a database when i try to startup
it said:
ORA-00439 feature not enabled: string

Please Help

What has been recently added to the init file?
Have you changed the compatible flag in the init file?

There is something in the init file causing this.

What version of oracle are you using? Look for the COMPATIBLE parameter in init.ora.

i think you have edited the init.ora file and changed a parameter.
most likely the archive log destination.
but what is the string? it comes back with a description of the string.
otherwise, you have a parameter enabling a feature that wasn't installed.
