difference between sys and system

can any one help me in telling the difference between the sys user and the system user.

Hi,
SYS is the data dictionary owner.
SYSTEM is intended for database administration.
In most cases you need SYSTEM to do general administration tasks.
SYS is used when creating a database or when running scripts to install an Oracle options such as PL/SQL support (catproc.sql).
