I just wanted to know what is the work role of oracle dba in a day to day basis ?

This question is posted not to offend any one but shares ur thoughts for people aspiring to be Oracle dba , what skills are needed , etc.

Role of oracle dba in a day to day basis are :
- space management on production systems,
- capacity planning and projection of growth
- change management
- health checks on production database
- Backup

DBA role :
- production performance tuning as well as application tuning smtimes.
- monitoring external data loads into production database
- backups and recovery testing
- contingency testing
- Security hardening
- documentation of all procedures
