I'm new to using Oracle Forms, and I'm running into this problem when using any versions of Oracle Forms on clients with Oracle 9i Release 2 on a Windows server:
When the Forms builder is being used, it seems to lock tables (apparently at random) for other sessions on other clients.
The only way to get rid of this is to either close the Forms Builder, or even kill the Forms Builder sessions.
The Forms Runtimes are OK, it just seems to be the Builder.
Has anyone come across this?

I managed to solve it.
In my case the DB server had a Unicode font, and the clients hadn't.
Updated the clients and the locks seem to have vanished.
Weird.
