Dear Sir/Ma'am,

While installing Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.1.0 i encountered the error connecting to the cache failed. Below is the log of the error messages:

CACHE CONFIGURATION ASSISTANT PROGRESS

Configuring the Cache
Creating the Cache
Starting up the Cache
Setting up the Cache Listener
Connecting to the Cache
Connecting to the Cache Failed
Reason: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101:shared memory realm does not exist

Processing failed.

My OS in Sun Solaris 8.

I retried it in the Oracle Database Cache Configuration Assistant screen for about 3 times now and still im getting the same error.

Any help on how to solve this error will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Edward
