Question Unicode for a part of the database ?

    Hello,

Our application is using a US7ASCII database : we now need to deal with multi-byte character sets. However, the tables in which we need multibyte are very isolated, and we don't want to affect the other data.

Is there a possibility to have one-byte-character-fields for most tables and only to use multi-byte for specific tables (or even fields in a table) ?

How can we achieve this ?

    Regards,

    Luc

    Hi,
Sorry i do not now the Name of the characterset,
But Oracle supports a characterset which can contain
    1 to three bytes,
So tables using UNICODE would need 2-3 Bytes
tables which not ( ASCII ) 1 Byte

    Orca

Mixing of Unicode and ASCII-Characterset is not possible due to the Characterset is a database-property.
