logging checkpoint info to the alert log file

Could anyone tell me how to enable the logging of the occurance of checkpoint information to the alert log files.

Hi gnanaraj,
Thanks for that. I will try that one but I think this requires a restart of the database instance. Is there a way to do that without restarting the instance as i want it to be done on the production database.

From 9i onwards, this is dynamic. So you do not have to bounce the db. Use ALTER SYSTEM. . .

my production database is 8.0.5 and I will have to wait till the weekend for the parameter change.
