    when exactly archiving occurs?

Can anybody confirm/dispute whether archiving of a redo log occurs right after a log switch? I've heard some said yes, others say no.

    Thanks,

Archiver begin to archive a redo log group after it becomes an inactive one. Everytime the log switch occur, a checkpoint will be started. The redo log will be inactive after the checkpoint.
