    Oracle on Redhat 7.2

    Hi guys,

I am installing Oracle 9.2 on top of Redhat 7.2 in a Sun Cobalt box. This is meant for demo purpose but I cannot stop wondering whether Oracle will support this kind of configuration since it is not a certified configuration. Oracle 9.2 is only certified with Redhat advanced server 2.1.
It can work fine but well, if nobody's buying it, what's the point going through the hurdles setting this up?

    What do you think guys?

    Hi,
Use Suse-Linux, for supporting all oracle-relases it's ok!

    Hi Thanks Pando and Orca,

We are trying to show customers that this Sun Cobalt box can do more than just being file and firewall server. Well, I don't know why they insist on setting this up after being told that this config is not supported.

Orca, your suggestion sounds cool but unfortunately Sun Cobalt only come with Redhat 7.2.
