    RMAN for Non-Oracle systems

    Dear Friends,

In RMAN backup, the HOST command does the same thing of COPY command. In that case, is it possible to use RMAN for non-oracle systems.

Could any one give a thought on this.

    Thanks

Or reverse engineer Rman and make your own back up application , then when you open the door to conquer the market you'll see that it has already been done by many!!!

HOST command doesn't do the same thing as COPY command. HOST command can be used to execute any OS command form within RMAN.
