9i feature ?
Hi,
In oracle 9i, is there any feature, where in i can resume a failed
transaction....like if i am running a batch program and if it fails due to insufficient space in the RBS, is it possible to resume from the same point where i stopped..
and one more question....is it possible to have Oracle managed files and User managed file both in the same database.

1) Yes you can.But you have to have "resumable" privilages and once the transactions suspended for a particular amount of time(Default 2 Hrs) so that u can correct the error. It automatically resumes the job once u correct the error.U can create a trigger using "after suspend".
2) You cannot have both oracle managed files and user managed file in a single database.

Wrong. You can have both types of files in a database.
Oracle-Managed Files and Existing Functionality
Using Oracle-managed files does not eliminate any existing functionality. Existing databases are able to operate as they always have. New files can be created as managed files while old ones are administered in the old way. Thus, a database can have a mixture of Oracle-managed and unmanaged files.
