    Unhappy Unix login script to set SID

    I have several databases (7) on one IBM AIX machine. How do I prompt the user at OS login for a "specific" SID? I've heard that other DBAs write a script for this, but I don't have a clue as to how to write a script to do this. Can anyone help? Or have a script to prompt for a specific SID at OS login.

    Use oraenv script located in $ORACLE_HOME/bin. Variable ORAENV_ASK=YES makes oraenv scripts conversational.

    Problem with the previous posting is that it does not take into consideration different oracle homes. oraenv will set oracle_home for you as well as oratab file set correctly.
