v$version - will it show if edition is Standard or Enterprise?
and how do we go about getting (or upgrading to) Enterprise edition if we only have standard?
-
The first row in v$version will show whether it's standard or enterprise edition.
As for upgrading you simply need to do the following:
1. Take a backup and stop database
2. De-install the standard edition software or install enterprise edition in a new home
3. Modify you "oratab" file to point to the new home
4. Start your database and run "catalog.sql" and "catproc.sql"
