    EMPVEN_VENDOR
    WHERE EMPVEN_VEN_GRP NOT = SPACES
    AND EMPVEN_VENDOR NOT = SPACES

I have never seen something like this before... any one has any idea, what these where clause has to with indexes... where can i find the syntax to write these indexes..

I was going to take a shot at this, but I really have absolutely no clue what you are asking for.

Is that the WHERE clause that they plan on using and they want you to make indexes that will be useful for this WHERE clause?

Or do they want you to create an index on these columns where no spaces are included in the actual indexes?

    Or is it something else?

    Please clarify,

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong

IMHO, This listing cannot be list of Column Names. If you are the DBA, you should be knowing whether these columns exists in your database. If these columns does not exists, then naturally, you cannot create any index.
