Oracle 9 on Redhat Linux 8

    Hi,

Has anyone installed Oracle 9 on Redhat 8 successfully? Any known issues?

    Thanks,

    Hi.

I loaded RH8 the other day. Looks pretty cool to me. I've attempted to install Oracle 9.2 but so far failed. The installer has assorted problems reading the contents of some jar files and can't write some properly. This is the same software that installed OK on RH7.1-7.3 so I'm not exactly sure what's going on.

I'll play around with it next week, but so far I've had no luck.

The only RedHat release I've installed Oracle 9.2 on with absolutely no problems is RH7.1. All others have required a bit of messing about.

Have a look at these instruction:

They're not Oracle9.2 on RH8, but they'll give you some pointers.

    Cheers
    Tim...
