    Wink

    Hi all,
I just passed the first exam for DBA certification and I whant to give my impression.
First, I have 2 years experience like ASP-Oracle developper.
I was prepare this exam with 'OCP DBA Certification Exam Guide by Jason Couchman' and STS.

My score was 5 points higher than necessary but I found this exam hard enough to think I was in truble.

I made 0 in Working with composite datatypes, I had no ideea where I was wrong.

Also 1/3 in Multiple-Column Subqueries, and until now I was ignoring the existence of multiple-column subqueries.
Somebody can post a example to see what this look like?

So, like someone said before here, if you can get 99% with STS, you pass, no problem, (59/60 is 98%), seriously, if you do 98-97 with STS, you ok,

Example for multi column sub query:

    SELECT * FROM CUSTOMER
WHERE (STATE, CITY ) IN ( SELECT STATE, CITY FROM STATE_CITY)

    Congrates

    Hi dmarian,

Congratulations on passing the first exam !!!

I too have registered for the Oracle 8i DBA exam. schedule is
Oct 18, 2000. Preparing with the same book you have mentioned. Is it good ? If I cover the entire Q&A section in the book, Can I expect some of those questions in the exam ?

BTW, Can I have a copy of your STS, please ? It is very expensive....

    Thanks,

All the Best for the rest !

    Arumugam.

    Thanks tami,

it was eazy, I'm sure there is not a single select like that in
Cochman's book and through all 300 test questions in STS
    software.

It's eazy once you see it first, that way I think this forums
is usefull, we can share thinks that they did not
mention in each book, we cannot read all theses books
    about Oracle, is too expensive.

Lightbulb if you read it with good understanding than ONCE is enough !

    Hi Ashi,
If you read it with understanding each and evry part of
it than you don't need to read it again and again!
I also recommend you that if you don't understand
anything just post it on this online forum to discuss it.

    Good Luck, Ashi :)
