I have an oracle client on a windows nt 4.0 server. In the Services list I have two services regarding the oracle client cache - both are not started and their "startup" is set to manual:

    OracleClientCache80
    OracleDEFAULT_HOME8ClientCache

The oracle client on the server is working OK.

Are there any benefits from having these two services up and running?

The ClientCache is used with Oracle Names, if you don't use Oracle Names for service resolution you don't require the services to run.
