Thread: What are locations DBI looks for tnsnames.ora while connecting to Oracle

    Can somebody tell me where the DBI looks for tnsnames.ora while connecting to Oracle ( like TNS_ADMIN , $ORACLE_HOME/admin/tns etc..... and in which order does it search? )
    or please suuggest where can i get this information .

    Problem like this i had have only once, when perl script was working in chroot environment.
    In all others cases i haven't any problems with compability of DBI/DBD and sqlnet.
    U have to have version of sqlnet, that can works with all versions of oracle db, that u need.

    The Perl DBI rides on top of OCI. Once you set the correct oracle environment variables and can login via sqlplus, you should be able to login via Perl DBI.
