Hi all,
I have an export file coming from 9.2.0.1 running on Linux and I tried to import to 9.2.0.1 on windows and I got the below errors:
Connected to: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Oracle Data Mining options
JServer Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
any suggestions of what happpened???
Thanks

Is it possible that your dmp file was ftp-ed from linux box to your Windows box in ascii mode? It is a binary file, so it must be transfered in binary mode....

In any case Oracle sees that dmp file as corrupted one. It was either corrupted during the transport process (which you say is not the case), or the file was corrupted during export process or the file somehow got corrupted after it was created.
Out of experience - in 99% cases it is the ascii ftp mode that is a real cause of the corruption.
