Hi Gang,
here is a copy of the error message in my SQLNET.LOG file. My application was working perfectly when I left on a vacation, I come back and there is a connection problem and this is the error message I get! Nobody has touched my server (or so they claim...) in the mean time. What could be the possible reason for this error and what should I check.
I've already checked the Listener process, the tnsnames.ora file, the service and connections through SQL*Plus & Toad. All of the above seems fine. I've also checked the permissions for the Oracle_home and all subdirectories. The Oracle sid has no special characters. I can't think of any valid reason. Somebody please help!
Also in my TNSNAMES.ORA the PROTOCOL is TCP and what I see in the log file is PROTOCOL=BEQ. Can somebody please throw some light on this!!!
This is on Windows NT Server 4.0 (Terminal Server Edition) & Oracle 8.0.6.0.0
Fatal NI connect error 12203, connecting to:

I'd re-check your tnsnames.ora file on both the client and the server.

Thanks Jeff, the problem was with the application. It randomly picks up which default database it wants to point to!
Thanks again,
