What's the downside to running Oracle9i in a Windows environment rather that a Compaq Tru64 Unix environment ?

My question really is , is Oracle reliable under W2K or will I have to keep doing the time-honoured reboots from time to time ?

Oracle will be only as reliable as the OS. So if the OS needs a reboot from time to time ... you get the picture.

    Tim,

Of all the database servers I look after I have the most problems with the NT and W2K ones. IMHO I find unix servers easier to manage and maintain particulally if you have to do a lot of remote support.

Thats just my opinon - I'm sure all the hardcore NT people out there will disagree
