    Let's have a nice conclusion :-)

    How to fasten the import and export process (provided that CPU and Memory is enough ):

    following are my idea ,

    For Export :
    A. Change archivelog mode to nonarchivelog mode
    B. Set Buffer parameter to big enough (Buffer=10M)

    For Import :
    A. Change archivelog mode to nonarchivelog mode
    B. Set Buffer parameter to big enough (Buffer=10M)
    C. Set Commit parameter to 'Y'

    How do you think ?

    Well, I really wouldn't be changing my DB to NOARCHIVELOG, casse your databae STILL logs in NOARCHIVELOG... it just doesn't ARCHIVE the logs. So there is no gain there.

    Fore pure speed

    Export

    DIRECT=Y
    COMPRESS=N

    IMPORT

    BUFFER = > 20MB
    COMMIT=Y of course
    INDEXES=N

    Export:
    DIRECT=Y
    COMPRESS=N
    Import:
    INDEXES=N
    COMMIT=N(Y generally not advisable)
