Our server has 4gb of memory and runs w2k standard edition. Does anyone know if we can run Oracle 8.1.7 on this plaform and take advange of this memory or must we run w2k advanced server?

    Thanks

I don't see much "advantage" in W2K on a PC, but yes, W2K professional is supported for 8.1.7.

What I mean is can the std edition of w2k server take advantage of 4gb on the server or do I need to run w2k advanced server for this? I thought I had seen postings concerning this a few months ago but now I can't find anything on it. Could I have a 2.5 gb sga with the std edition for example.

    Thanks
