We have a client in Mountain View, California that needs an Oracle/Peoplesoft DBA.
The company is based near Stanford University and is a senior level position
requiring decision-making skills.

* Responsibilities:
Perform Oracle DBA role, including creating databases, applying security, performance tuning,
back-ups and recovery, upgrades, troubleshooting and consulting with in-house developers,
capacity planning, and work closely with the network administration group.
Perform analysis and recommendations for database implementation and design.
Responsible for defining and documenting standard procedures for the database group.
Will cross train and be back-up to our other Oracle and SQL Server DBAs.
Please note that this is an "application-focused" position more than "physical database-focused".

Requirements:

· BS in computer science, business or related field or equivalent work experience
· 2-4 years using SQL and 3-4 years Oracle database administration
experience required.
· 2 or more years of Oracle experience, and performing upgrades
(preferably version 7.0 to version 8.0)
· 2 or more years of experience working with PeopleSoft HR and Financial applications.
Must have experience with performing at least one major upgrade.
(preferably version 7.0 to 8.0)
· Experience implementing and upgrading Documentum, and (Lab Information Management Systems).
· Experience with developing database applications with SQLServer, Access/SQLServer combination,
or Oracle.
· Experience with data modeling tools, ie. ERWIN or SelectSE.
· Experience with Oracle Enterprise Management tools or other database toolkits.
· Proficient with Windows NT servers and desktop PCs in Win95 or WinNT
· Must have Oracle database administrator and performance tuning skills
· UNIX experience a plus.
· Willing to travel between the facilities located in Palo Alto, Mountain View and
Vacaville, CA as needed.
· Must be customer-focused and willing to provide superior customer service.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
· Ability to write and debug stored procedures and database triggers.
· Strong communication, documentation and troubleshooting skills.
