    Is that Aplication Server and Oracle Operating System are same things....

    I never knew it either but a coworker told me there is such thing OOS (oracle operating System) i went to Oacle site search for it and some products came up under OOS...wondering what is it???

    it is some terminology evolved during batch loading process
    Out Of Study Load (OOS )

    That's ObjectOracleSample (OOS) - part of 9iAS and not and OS. Just part of the language is all.

    I think there may be some confusion as I heard something to the effect that Oracle's iFS made Oracle "appear" as if it is it's own OS. Add to that the number of things you may be able to do with it that are similar to a sys admin (blocks users from accessing parts of the iFS, etc.) Not to mention that they are planning on releasing their own clustered file system for Linux and it's starts to look like it just may be the case. But for now Oracle is not an OS.
