Thread: 9i client backward compatibilty issues

    Does anyone know of any backward compatability issues when using the 9i client to connect to 8i or 7.3.4 databases.

    I've been using the 9.2 client with 8.1.7.2 and 8.1.7.4 databases for about two months without problems.

    I was using 9.0.1 client against 7.3.4, 8.1.5, 8.1.7 with no problems.

    Bummer, Ive just tried connecting to 7.3.4 using the 9.2.0.1 client and it appears to crash sqlplus.

    This appears to be known bug :2308496
