    Question

    I have the following situation:

As it plans of production an alpha f4100 (only compaq truh l
40f) with Oracle 8.1.7.4 and a database of 150 Gb.
I have that faser a comparison (for possible purchase) with a
Sun 3800 with the solaris 8 and Oracle 8.1.7.0,

I have to create the bank in identical Sun to the of the digital and to maintain it up-to-date " on line " with the production bank.

Step 1) to Do a full export of the digital.

Step 2) to Do a Full import in Sun
And the step 2 should delay 18horas, and therefore he/she should leave the bank of Sun with a day of delay in reference to the of the Digital.

Step 3) to Create a direct communication channel among 2 o'clock plans and to apply to each xx hours the archive of the Digital in Sun.
(Can anybody happen the commands of archive application for this case????)

Step 4) As alternative can be made export incremental in the Digital and to go up the same in Sun, only that oh I lose the alterations of DDL.

That is to say: I have two database and I have to maintain a
database in parallel to the other identical at the first database and active.... How do this???

    Certainly not with export/import.

If your databases need to be synchronized automatically, I would look at replication.

    Everything Well??

    Weel.

Do I have to do a full import obligatorily??
Then I can implement the replication.
The tool DBA Studio of Oracle is reliable to implement replications

Do you have some script that can happen for me to see as doing???

End-to-end replication setup is a little beyond the scope of this forum. I suggest you read http://download-east.oracle.com/docs...a76959/toc.htm and ask more specific questions if you determine replication is the right choice for you.
