    Hi guys,

Tomorrow I will start to set up a RAC environment in a client's place for the first time. It is just for testing purpose but still give me a cloudy doubt over my head.

I am supposed to finish this installation by this friday. Cool huh? Even Oracle Consulting asks for 10 days to set up a RAC.

Guys, I really need your experience on this. Do you have any suggestion or tips on this topic?
We will install it on top of Sun 280R boxes. Solaris 9. With Oracle 9.2 RAC software. using Sun cluster 3.0 and VxVM.

    Thanks in advance.

    These docs might be helpful...

For sun cluster 3 check out metalink doc# 175465.1
    For Linux doc# 184821.1

I installed a couple of rac (but (9.0.1) on Solaris + Sun Cluster 3.0.
    !!! NOTE withourt Veritas software.

What u need to check before installation :

-- does oracle can work with shared files or only with raw devices in ur configuration.
(in my case it was raw devices only)
-- check structure of private and public networks
(!!!AND use ONLY public network addresses in tnshames.ora)
    -- choose type of installatiion
(i used oracle installer only for installation of software,
all others procedures i did manually)
-- if u have to use raw devices then check type of devices in /dev...
(MUST BE block raw devices and size of each raw device MUST BE more larger then
size of datafile or redolog file)
-- reseach all addition information about rac

    good luck.
