    Hi,

    help! why do users hang in Oracle 9i?
    especially when they compile, drop user, etc...

    to release the lock , i always kill sessions....

    this happened after we migrated to 9 from 8i..

    Plz check your SGA size, no of online RBSs and log files also. Can you tell me all these stats?

    Has been your application evaluated to run well in 9i. Many times the locks are responsability of a bad designed application than a problem in the database.
