Thread: Standby database

    I am using Oracle 8.0 for our OLTP system, which is a heavy logging system, where system down time is not expected by any chance. So i am maintaining a standby database, couple of times i have activated my standby database as production and it works fine. Since the production server is a huge database, i would like to take backups from my standby database. I have heard that standby now offers this facility. Is it true or if true , does Oracle 8.0 has got that feature ?

    U mean to say u want to take backups of standby database,
    then yes u can take backups of standby database.
