Hi,
WIN2K, Oracle EE 9.2.x
Last Night ( a loooong night ) we tried to install a 9iR2 Db.
Usually i use the dbassistant to generate all Files which are neceessary for creating the whole instance.
And then i modify them.
But we were not successfully to handle all this stuff with Templates and so on of the new unhandy dbassistant! ( probalby i have to spend 5 years in a kungFu-Temple to medidate to understand it ,-))
( So my first question is : why oracle does not invite some java-freaks and let them build a handy intelligent ( for normal equipped users ) interface for the dbassistant ? )
So we used an example generated with 9iR1-files and it worked. But i am not sure if something is missing, for example all what you need for XMLDB.
So my request is for the most important CreatFiles :
CreateDb.sql
CreateDbFiles.sql
CreateCatalog.sql
JServer.sql
init.ora
You could pass this thru my email
Thanks in advice

well instead of choosing templates just go to new database and you get the old fashioned dbassistant
-
Well i will leave them ( Templates ) behind me!
Thanks!
