    Hi all

    I know this fourum is not an appropriate forum for this type of question but if someone can refer me to SQL server forum, what is the goos site for SQL server forum.

    Any way, if you I have a file .DAT file, how can I import this file or bring this file to SQL server???

    Can somoene give me some advise???

    i heard that http://www.sqlteam.com is a good one for Sql server issues, never tried it though (i'm a loyal Oracle customer ).

    assumingyour .dat is a flat file

    1-BCP (Batch Control Program). You will have to set up the table and file controls.

    2-Create the table and use Access or other ODBC program to port the data.


    Both work equally well (or poorly, depending on file, workstation, yada yada yada).

    Could you please elaborate more on your advises, what do you mean BCP??? and table and file controls????
