    I am under Red Hat Linux 7.3
    Everytime I try to install Oracle 9i I get the following error:

    $ ./runInstaller

    $ Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2002-08-03_03-04-25PM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
    /tmp/OraInstall2002-08-03_03-04-25PM/jre/bin/i386/native_threads/java: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    what does it mean and how can I solve this problem?

    thanks in advance.

    well look for libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2, do you have it?

    I bet because you have not installed development tools for Red Hat. If you dont have it install compat-libstdc7.2-2.96.101.9.i386
