I had several snapshot sites refreshing from one master table.

I have shutdown and de-commisioned one snapshot database (without breaking the refresh jobs) and this has cause the snapshot log tables in the master site to grow.

I have tried to use dbms_snapshot.purge_log procedure to clean the snapshots logs but it does not clean it.

Dropping snapshots and recreating them on several sites is a pain.

Is there any other way to clean the snapshot logs ?
Why did purge_log procedure did not clean the snapshot log tables ?

    Thx

You can truncate the logs but this may cause you snapshots to be out of sink. Alternatively just do a complete refresh of all snapshots, rather than a rebuild.

To truncate the snapshot logs and prevent future trouble, you must drop the snapshot in the shutdown database and recreate the snapshot log.
There is steps on replication admin guide, talking about this steps.
After recreate the snapshot log, just do a full refresh of all snapshot site, and it will be ok later.
