Thread: Error 472

    My instance has failed with the following error in the alert.log file
    "LMD0: terminating instance due to error 472 "
    What cud be the reason?
    In Metalink,I find that when the PMON process dies, the instance crashes. But Y does PMON die?

    What says the pmonxxx.trc file?

    I find only LMONxxx.trc files in the bdump directory

    In the alert.ora file, probably will be an entry like: errors in file xxxxx. Have you looked?

    The error in alert file is like this:

    LMD0: terminating instance due to error 472
    Instance terminated by LMD0, pid = 2020854c

    No user files are created during that time in UDUMP

    if itīs unix look a file called errno.h

    I think itīs in /usr not sure, use find to find it, from there look what error corresponds to 472
