    Dear Friends,

Can we have Oracle for AS-400 or OS-390.

Or Can we put any other databases other than DB2 on AS-400 or OS-390.

    Thanks

    AFAIK,

You can have Oracle on OS-390. I don't think Oracle is available on AS-400.

    Hi,
I work in an environment Oracle 8.1.7.3.50 EE and Os/390 or Z/os.
All works very fine, but to allocate space for datafiles you have this allways to prapare in OS/390 ( not so dynamic like with WIN2K or UX )

Db2 has the problen that some functionaltiy depends on the os-release ( AIX/win2K/OS//390)

    Hi gandhi.

    from the Oracle Metalink support:

"From: Oracle, Narayanan Jayapalan 12-Apr-01 06:13
Subject: Re : Oracle Server on AS400

Oracle server is not ported on IBM/AS400 environment. Check the certification matrix on the metalink for valid combinations of OS/RDBMS.

Oracle provides gateways to access AS400 servers. "

    hope this can help you

    ori.
