    Hi Friends,
I have to query non oracle datasources to do a extraction of data to load into oracle 9i Rel Database ( in Winnt ). I have to access a database called unidata. Currently I use MS -access and use odbc to connect to the that database and load the data to ms-access and make comma separated files.

But now since, I would be given access to that database ,I think i can access the information from oracle directly . Any ideas ? Can I use java in oracle 9i db to do the querying so that I can load the information straight to my DW database ?

Help me if any of u have come across this sitn .. or if you have any ideas

And can anyone tell me the steps in ETL ( PL/SQL ) no tools ..
jsut to cross verify. I'm working on my first ETL project and building a small datamart.

If you can connect using ODBC you will be OK to use Generic Connectivity. Here's an example:

    OCP DBA 7.3, 8, 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g
    OCA PL/SQL Developer
    Oracle ACE Director
