invalid column name during export

Has anyone encountered this. I tried to export my development schema and receive an "invalid column name" error. It backs up all the tables, then I receive the error.

. . exporting table W_TERR 3 rows exported
. exporting synonyms
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 904 encountered
ORA-00904: invalid column name
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Have you recently applied a patch to your database?...
This usually occurs after a patch has been applied and the DBA (We've all been there) has not run catalog.sql and catproc.sql.

1. Logon to sqlplus as SYS
2. run catalog.sql & catproc.sql from $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin.

This should fix the situation....
