Is there any view to see what are the files are backing up by rman currently ?? like by querying the v$backup view, can find out what are the files are in backup mode in hot backup.
How do we monitor the rman process?? v$session_longops gives some info. anything else other than this?
How does the rman backup process run?
    Thanks in advance

Normally RMAN backups logs are generated - the backup status can be seen here. Hope u r using MML like LSM with RMAN.

Well, I have not used dd views to see while the backup process is on. But definitely u can see the dd views to see later what files have been backed up and all other details if the catalog is maintained in the same database or from the catalog data base.
