Help for sql/plus

I am a beginer in ORACLE.

I used 9i;

when i typed sqlpus sys/pwd@connectstring

it report
ERROR£º
ORA-28009: connection to sys should be as sysdba or sysoper


who can tell me why?

and i also want to know the internal account in 9i?

In 9i sys must login as sysdba.
Internal account is no more there in 9i.

Try using this sequence:

sqlplus /nolog
followed by
conn / as sysdba
