Thread: WHY CONFIGURE DATABASE OPTIONS IS NOT THERE

    Hi all,

    I have an instance Oracle 9.2.0.1 running on Linux Redhat 7.3, when I go to Database Congiguration Assitant to modify this database by going to $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbca and Oracle Database Assistant come up

    There were 4 options:
    1. create a database
    2. configure database options in a database
    3. delete a database
    4. manage template

    I want to modify the existing database, but the option #2 was gray out. Moreover, option #3 was also gray out.

    How come Oracle doesn't let me modify the database even I already had my database running on the box

    I created this database munually by running the scripts/

    Please help

    There is a non-bug related to this (2003506). If you use a script, you only get the options you see (1 and 4).

    that's exactly what happened.

    could you please tell me how to fix this problem or how to get around it ????
