    Hi guys,

    A database has been running on oracle 8.1.6 (Standard Edition). After we update the software 8.1.6 (Standard Edition) to Enterprise Edition, Will the database open? If not how to make the database to open.

    Logically there should not be any problem. I will suggest to make a complete backup before upgrading. Make sure that your database is down during upgrade.

    The DB should open without any problems, however if you want to use some of the additional functionality of EE you will need to run the necessary data dictionary scripts.
