    Hi Oracle legends,
    Pls. answer my question.

    1.How will you go about in a production environment if there is a problem in the database and will not get any down time to shutdown the database?.

    2.How to Clone a Replication Database?.

    Pls. give me you valuable answers...

    Answer to question 1: blame it on the systems administrator. Start with the NT one, then the UNIX one.

    Then look into multi-master blame replication. Then you can just walk out and let someone else blame the sys admin.

    To your Qs:1 it's very ridiculous but i think you can if you have standby database running , just you have to change the IP address.
    You cannot succeed if you fear to face challenges.

    Well, I guess you have to use your convincing skills and
    justify to the management/boss why a database
    shutdown is needed. If the apps/db users still can
    work even if there's a db problem then I think there is
    no problem.
