    I have configured 9i, oem, management server and created repository.

    However, the 9i agent is not starting with message 'server did not report any error. Contact sys admin'.

    What could be the problem?

    It is unable to access UQ files. They are in %ORACLE_HOME%\network\agent.

    My problems is that during the initialization, it is unable to read existing .q files. I deleted all of them and it recreated and started the agent prefectly.

    so you think i should delete all the .q files and then try to start the agent's service?

    First trace the problem. You can add these lines the snmp_rw.ora file in %ORACLE_HOME\network\admin:

    dbsnmp.trace_level=16

    dbsnmp.trace_directory={dir_name}

    dbsnmp.trace_file={file name}

    Try to start the agent. Check the trace file. If it has error like this:

    nmiumini_initializeUM: Unable to initialize UQFailed while initializing user subsystem
    Error initializing subsystems

    Then you have the user initialization problem.
