    hi,
    Status of a redologfile become stale whenever the data in that is incomplete.

    What are the situations or scenarios when the redologfile contents will be incomplete?

    It typically happens when some temporary error prevents LGWR from writng to a redo log member or a member is newly added.

    shutdown abort can also do this.
